African American Story Telling
In this residency, students are presented with stories about African American History, Folk Art and the life of child during this period. Students are allowed to participate in games, period clothing, dances and songs. This residency can be tailored to a specific piece of literature and different cultures.

This residency is available Monday through Thursday.
8 am-6 pm
This room needs to be large enough for students to dance, form groups. there should be a microphone and speaker, small table and podium.
Educational facility. There is a $50 trip fee outside of Mecklenburg County.
$495 for a one-day residency. This price includes two 60-minute sessions a day.
$1450 for 3-day residency. This price includes two 60-minute sessions a day.
SL.2 Integrate and evaluate information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally. Students are presented with oral history. They must listen to understand the presentation.
SL.4 Present information, findings, and supporting evidence such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience. Students listened to oral history and story.
SL.5 Make strategic use of digital media and visual displays of data to express information and enhance understanding of presentations. The storyteller will present costumes, visual folk art, and visual aids.
