For groups larger than 25 students, they will be split into 2 groups and will exercise for 30 minutes each.
R1 – Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence when speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text. W7 – Conduct short research project based on focused questions, demonstrating understanding of the subject under investigation. SL1 – Prepare for and participate effectively in a range of conversations and collaborations with diverse partners, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively.
MS1 – Apply competent motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities (in our case, students will be divided into small groups in order to execute multiple locomotor skills such as walking and jumping while completing STEM challenges). HF3 – Understand the importance of achieving and maintaining a health-enhancing level of physical fitness (in our case, students will be informed of opportunities outside of our after-school youth fitness program, via group discussion, to increase their daily physical activities). PR4 – Use behavorial strategies that are responsible and enhance respect of self and others and value activity (in our case, students will be able to work safely within their groups without pushing or shoving, by waiting his or her turn, by following directions and by listening).
