Dates based on musician availability. Once your school’s request is received, we will follow-up with further scheduling details.

Available times:

Performance(s) should start no earlier than 9 AM or end later than 2 PM and runs 45 minutes in length. We offer back-to-back performances as long as both shows start and finish within two hours of the scheduled start time of the first show.

 

Length of program: 45 minutes
Space / technical requirements:

(1) 3 – 5 straight-backed, armless chairs (depending on the size of the ensemble)
(2) 3 – 5 music stands (preferred but not required)

Location(s):

Performances will take place at your school. Venues include classrooms, gyms, multipurpose rooms, etc.

Fees / Ticketing:

Mixed Trio= $450 single, $650 for a back-to-back performance*

String Quartet- $575 single, $800 for a back-to-back performance*

Brass Quintet= $700 single, $975 back-to-back performance*

*Back-to-Back performances: BOTH shows must start and finish within two hours of the scheduled start time.

**Schools outside of Mecklenburg County are subject to additional travel costs

EDUCATION STANDARDS

NC Standard Course of Study:

L1 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. L3 Apply knowledge of language to understand how language functions in different contexts, to make effective choices for meaning or style, and to comprehend more fully when reading or listening. L6 Acquire and use accurately a range of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases sufficient for reading, writing, speaking, and listening at the college and career readiness level; demonstrate independence in developing vocabulary knowledge when encountering an unknown term important to comprehension or expression. Prelude Ensemble performances help students increase music literacy by helping them comprehend, analyze, and interpret the language of music.

NC Essential Standards:

MR.1 Understand the interacting elements to respond to music and music performances. Through watching a live performance students learn how to respond to classical music and classical music performances. They teach students about the various instruments of the orchestra and how they are played, and how to listen for elements such as tempo, dynamics, etc. ML.1 Apply the elements of music and musical techniques in order to sing and play music with accuracy and expression. Ml.2 Interpret the sound and symbol systems of music. For older music students the performances help teach about technique and musicianship skills through demonstration. CR.1 Understand global, interdisciplinary, and 21st-century connections with music. The programs make connections to other disciplines through the discussions of the composers and historical contexts of particular works.

Cancellation Policy

Advanced notice is necessary. At least a one week notice is required to cancel or reschedule any Prelude Ensemble performance. Any session canceled within one week is subject to be charged the full amount.
