Program Description
Presented annually since 1951, these concerts are an excellent way for students to experience the power of a live orchestra.

**Bus parking will be available at Northwest School of the Arts (1415 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216).
Each teacher, student, and chaperone will need a ticket, tickets are $8.00 per individual. Qualifying Title 1 schools receive a discounted rate of $6.00 per individual.
Due to the limited amount of seats available, reservations, including an accurate headcount, must be confirmed by Friday, October 4, 2019.
**Prices include all applicable taxes & fees. This fee, however, does not include transportation to and from the performance venue.
EDUCATION STANDARDS
L1 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. L3 Apply knowledge of language to understand how language functions in different contexts, to make effective choices for meaning or stlye, and to comprehend more fully when reading or listening. L6 Acquire and use accurately a range of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases sufficient for reading, writing, speaking, and listening at the college and career readiness level; demonstrate independent in developing vocabulary knowledge when encountering an unknown term important to comprehension or expression. Attending an Education Concert will help students increase music literacy by helping them comprehend, analyze, and interpret the language of music.
MR.1: Understand the interacting elements to respond to music and music performances. Education Concerts are a great way for students to observe all of the interacting elements that go into a symphony performance and learn how to respond to classical music performances. This includes watching how the players respond to the conductors gestures, observing the differences in sound and personnel/instrumentation of music of different eras, and being able to form opinions and analysis of the compositions and performances experienced.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the limited amount of seats available, reservations, including an accurate headcount, must be confirmed by Friday, October 4 , 2019. Groups can cancel at any time leading up to this date.
**Any cancellations between September 1 – October 4 may be subject to a charge of 50% of the ticket order amount. Cancellations within a week of the show are subject to a charge of the full ticket order amount.
