Let’s Put On a Play!

Program Description

In this residency, students will discover the joy of acting as they create and perform their own plays. Students will express their own creativity as they learn the basics of acting, dramatic structure, and writing as well as building their confidence in public speaking. The program culminates in a performance on the last day where students will show off their brand new play.

  • From “W.K.3 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in which they occurred, and with guidance and support, provide a reaction to what happened.”
  • To “W.8.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences.”
