How to See Like a Photographer: (Grades PreK-12)
Learn how to see like a photographer with The Light Factory’s teaching artists. Students will learn how to compose beautiful images by incorporating elements such as line, texture, perspective, framing and rule of thirds. Times are flexible. During certain times of the year, The Light Factory may request the program start after 9am in order to get better exposures.
Classroom space with access to the outdoors is preferred.
This program can be completed at The Light Factory or in your own classroom.
Prices are based on the number of instruction hours needed for the program.
W5- Developing and strengthening writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting or trying a new approach. Specifically, Students will be supported in using the camera and photography to enhance and build their language and writing skills. Students will use photography and image making as a new approach to initiate writing assignments. SL1- Prepare for and participate effectively in a range of conversations and collaborations with diverse partners, building on others’ ideas snd expressing their own clearly and persuasively. Students will work together to find their own unique individual interpretations of elements and principals of photography, and then work together to evaluate and critique each other’s findings. SL4- Present information, findings and supporting evidence such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development and style are appropriate to task, purpose and audience. Students will be asked to share their images and explain how they feel these are accurate representations of the assignments through writing and speaking.

A 50% non refundable deposit is required to book a program. Programs must be booked at least one month in advance. In the event of inclement weather, these programs can certainly be rescheduled. We make every effort to avoid cancellation of a program.
