Levine Museum of the New South engages a broad-based audience in the exploration and appreciation of the diverse history of the South since the Civil War, with a focus on Charlotte and the surrounding Carolina Piedmont. Valuing education, we work closely with schools, teachers, and the community to provide learning opportunities for youth of all ages. Please note our new location at 401 S. Tryon Street.

Museum Exhibit Visit:
This is for groups interested in exploring the Museum in person. This option allows individuals to visit our current exhibit(s) at their own pace and focus time in areas that are of particular interest, or add on a guided experience. Available year-round, in person visits allow groups to visit our current exhibit(s), and are well suited for classes, business teams, community groups, family reunions, bus tours, clubs and other organizations.
Our current exhibit, Men of Change, has an available activity guide for students to use in exploring the exhibit. The exhibit is most suited to middle school and high school, but younger grades can certainly visit it as well. Also, half of the exhibit will housed at Levine Museum and half will be at the Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture. If you wish to see the entire exhibit, we will help connect you with the Gantt. Please visit https://menofchange.si.edu/ to learn more about the content of Men of Change.
