Music is a catalyst for a stronger, more connected community. That belief is at the heart of the Charlotte Symphony, and every day we provide exceptional musical experiences that inspire our community, plus programs that create new pathways of opportunity.
The Charlotte Symphony performs everywhere from community parks and schools to churches, breweries, and senior care centers. We are deeply committed to the notion that music, accessible to all and experienced in many forms, unifies our community.
Our mission is to nurture a passion for orchestral music in our community through diverse educational programming and excellent instruction.

Bring the CSO into your school with a Prelude Ensemble performance! These are special ensemble presentations performed by CSO musicians. Prelude Ensembles support the North Carolina Essential Standards for Music Education and can serve as either an introduction to the instruments of the orchestra for younger students or as an opportunity for middle and high school musicians to interact with professional musicians. Performances are about creating dialogues between students and musicians through an interactive 45-60 minute program which can be customized to appeal to students in grades K-12.
