We’ve all heard the saying, “Laughter is the best medicine.” Maybe that explains why more and more clinicians are recommending applied improv as a therapeutic modality for people with mental health disorders such as developmental disabilities including autism and other special needs.
The research in this area has shown that improvisation has a discernible positive effect in improving communication and prosocial behaviors in individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs.
We “play” improvisational theatre related warm up games and perform other improv related activities applicable for your students.
