Bright Star Touring Theatre is the nation’s largest provider of Black History and Bully Prevention programs for schools, libraries and museums. Now in our 17th year, Bright Star will perform over 2000 shows for audiences from Seattle, Washington to Moscow, Russia and almost every place in between!

All of our shows are aligned with state and national standards, come complete with a study guide and support materials, and, with over 50 unique shows in our catalogue, we have something for everyone! Topics include: STEM, Bully Prevention, Social/Emotional Learning, Black History, Women’s History, Holidays, Inclusion/Diversity, Summer Reading Programs, and Classic Literature.

In addition to shows, we’ve also got workshops, camps and residencies available!

Bright Star Touring Production 2019-20

Program description

Bright Star offers 45 minute shows with strong character messages that address topics like Bully Prevention, STEM, Inclusion/Diversity, Black History, Women’s History,  Holidays and more! Our season is comprised of 20+ tours with 3 shows available on each tour. You can book the same show back to back, or mix and match shows from the same tour on the same day for different audiences.

In addition to these offerings, Bright Star offers residency packages from a single day – such as our “Operation Friendship” whole-school Bully Prevention residency, to five-day hands-on immersive theatre experiences.

We require no stage or technical support and our professionally created sets, props, and costumes are designed to fit any space. Prices are all inclusive with travel expenses, study-guide access, post-show Q&A covered.

$895 for a single show, $250 for additional shows, back-to-back.

Single day residencies start at $1295. Add a show to your residency for just $250!

Multi-day residencies and camps range in price from $2995-$4995 depending on distance and dates.

EDUCATION STANDARDS

NC Standard Course of Study:

We support NC Standards in English Language Arts “Speaking and Listening” and various shows support standards in “Guidance,” “Science,” “Social Studies,” “Math,” and, of course, “Theatre Arts.”

NC Essential Standards:

Theatre Arts Essential Standards are supported throughout all grade levels in “Culture,” “Communication” and “Aesthetics.”

Cancellation Policy

Due to high costs associated with travel arrangements, we are unable to accept cancellations except in the instance that inclement weather causes the sponsor’s location to close AND Bright Star is unable to accommodate the Sponsor in making up the performance later on in the tour.  If a school cancels a program outside of these perameters, Bright Star requires a 60% cancellation fee.
