Preschool Arts Lab (PAL), Elementary School Arts Lab

Program description

The Preschool Arts Lab (PAL) is a literacy-based art program where children actively participate in hands-on, open-ended art experiences with an emphasis on creative inquiry and exploratory fun. Talented and caring instructors conduct these one-hour sessions, beginning with a read along story time and followed by ‘open lab’ time, in which children freely circulate among five different art activity stations, trying a wide variety of materials and collaborative processes. These activity stations may include painting with alternative materials, printing and stamping, collage, making small books, group construction projects in cardboard and foam, weaving, and sewing. An afternoon or morning with PAL establishes school readiness, improves motor and sensory skills, develops socialization skills, encourages the enjoyment of reading and inspires creativity.  Arts + PAL experiences can be adapted for children up to the second grade, so it’s perfect for elementary students as well.
