Better Bodies 4 Us, L.L.C.

Hello! I’m Charleszetta Smith Ford. Thanks for visiting my Directory Page.

I am a high-energy licensed physical education teacher, certified personal trainer, and author with over eighteen years of experience in the health and fitness field. After working in public schools for six years, I realized that the only way I could create an environment where students could have fun while exercising in a structured manner was to design my own large-scale youth-fitness program. I took a leap of faith and launched Better Bodies 4 Us, full time, in 2011.

Each week, I visit a different elementary school to implement my Youth Fitness program. Seeing my students’ excitement to exercise with me brings such joy to my heart and confirms, daily, that I am doing exactly what God has called me to do—changing lives one day at a time, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

My love for encouraging children to move motivated me to write my first book, B3 Goes to the Playground, last year. It is my hope that many children and families, near and far, will be motivated to exercise and enrich their lives together.

Better Bodies 4 Children - 8 week Program

Program description

Better Bodies 4 Children is an 8-week youth fitness program that meets 1-day per week. Our focus is on developing our students in the areas of healthy living, physical fitness, leadership, self-esteem and sportsmanship. This program begins and ends with a personal best challenge day in order to provide structure for setting goals, documenting benchmarks and reflecting on past success.

Our Youth Fitness Program is designed to help fight the childhood obesity epidemic that threatens to take the lives of so many children today. Each student’s strength, endurance and flexibility will increase while improving their locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative skills. Also, this program desires to encourage our youth to have a better outlook on what they can do in order to live a healthy life.

The students will complete an engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activity which will reinforce the importance of a healthy mind and body connection; aerobic fitness stations that include but are not limited to: push-ups, curl-ups, crab walk, frog jumps, and jumping jacks; obstacel course; obstacle course stations that challenge students to jump over hurdles, crawl through hula hoops, tumble down mats and walk along ropes;  and relays. Each activity will give our youth the opportunity to have fun while exercising in a non-competitive, fun-loving environment. Because of the fun that the students will experience while exercising, it is our hope that they will share all that they learn and do with their family and friends. The overall goal of Better Bodies 4 Us is to encourage our community to start moving together.
