Kindergarten:

K.P.2.1 – Students know objects and substances have properties. Students know objects can be described in terms of the materials they are made of (e.g.,
clay, cloth, paper) and their physical properties (e.g., color, size, shape, weight, texture, flexibility, magnetic attraction, floating or sinking in
water). Students know some materials, such as clay and wood, make things hard and sturdy which helps to determine how they are used.
Other materials such as cloth and paper make things flexible which gives them a different use compared to things that are hard.

K.P.2.2 – Students know objects may be sorted based on a list of observable properties such as size, color, shape, texture, weight, and flexibility.

First Grade:

1.P.1.3 – Predict the effect of a given force on the motion of an object, including balanced forces.

Third Grade:

3.P.1.1 – Infer changes in speed or direction resulting from forces acting on an object.

Fifth Grade:

5.P.1.1 – Explain how factors such as gravity, friction, and change in
mass affect the motion of objects.

5.P.1.4 – Predict the effect of a given force or a change in mass on the
motion of an object.

Seventh Grade:

7.P.1.2 – Explain the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces acting
on an object (including friction, gravity and magnets)
