Community Art

Program description

In this residency, students work on a collaborative piece of Community Art Work. Students in a community (classroom) work individually on a small piece of art work that is merged into a larger piece of art, building a conglomeration of many pieces…from a community. The end result can come from a classroom or the whole school.  Historical, Science and Multicultural curriculum involves quilt-making and other folk art.  The art mediums for this project are endless:  paper, printmaking, ceramic tiles, pottery, sculpture.
