Camerin Watson

Camerin Watson received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in dance performance and choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2007. Since graduating Camerin has been working as a  teaching artist, performer, choreographer and producer.  She has been a teaching artist with Wolf Trap for five years. In 2016, Camerin was selected as one of four national Wolf Trap artists  to develop a Small Bites performance and workshop. Camerin has presented work at BOOM, the Asheville, Greensboro and Atlanta Fringe Festivals, as part of the North Carolina Dance Festival and the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Camerin is one of the founders of TAPROOT, an interdisciplinary collaborative creating original performance work in Charlotte. Camerin has served on the board for the Charlotte Dance Festival and was a producer Wine and Dance. Currently she is the Artistic Director of Charlotte’s annual BOOM festival. She received her Adaptive Dance Teacher Certification from Boston Ballet and began Open Door Studios’  Step Together program for dancers with and without disabilities.

Dancing Over, Under, Around and Through

Program description

Explore words through movement in this fun lesson on positional words. Students enjoy moving their bodies through space while telling a story and dancing. This workshop is a 30-45 minute experience that introduces students and teachers to an exciting Brain Dance Warm-Up followed by an captivating telling of an adventure story where the characters must traverse obstacles in order to find their way. Become the characters, create their movements and help find their destination as we dance over, under, around and through.

Space / technical requirements:

Open space with seating that can be pushed out of the way for a movement experience. A gym, auditorium or library often work best but classrooms can be made to work with some re-arranging as well. A sound system is great!

One 30-45 min. workshop is $100

Two 30-45 minute workshops are $75 each, when scheduled together.

Three or more 30-45 minute workshops are $60 each, when scheduled together.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations without a reschedule:
Cancellations made more than one month in advance- 10% of the fee
Cancellations made 29 to 7 days in advance- 25% of the fee
Cancellations made 6 days to 1 day in advance of the residency- 50% of the fee
Cancellations made in less than 24 hours of the start time for the residency- 75% of the fee.
