220 Westinghouse Boulevard, Suite 402, Charlotte, NC 28273
Piedmont Music Therapy, LLC is staffed by board certified music therapists who received a college degree in music therapy and following a clinical internship passed a national board certification exam. Their training included with working with children and youth with varying abilities and providing a success oriented experience for them to be included in childhood upbringing such as summer camps.
PMT offers weekly music therapy group sessions for children to be able to make music through singing, playing instruments, writing songs, moving to music and more. Goals such as socialization, self-expression, group cohesion, and fostering arts making are commonly attained through therapeutic summer camp programming.
Materials and instruments are supplied and students do not have to have any previous musical experience to benefit from the summer camp experiences. Instruments and activities will be adapted for all students to participate and feel supported in a welcomed, therapetuic summer camp setting. Past campers at group programming offered by PMT yielded active participation, an outlet to their creative expression and allowed children to experience a summer camp with the least restricted environment. PMT is able to incorporate themes from the partnering organization or school and has woven themes of holidays, the USA and traveling the world.

Rescheduling may not be possible. If a club is cancelled without make-up then 50% of club meeting cost is still due to PMT. If PMT Staff is ill then arrangements will be made to hopefully provide coverage by another PMT Staff Member. If not, then club will have make-up date. Your instructor will wait at least ten minutes after the scheduled clubt time, before declaring the meeting a “no show.”
