Blumenthal Performing Arts (BPA) is a non-profit organization that operates six theaters on three campuses in uptown Charlotte. Our mission is to present the best in the performing arts and in partnership with others, share and employ the arts as a major catalyst to strengthen education, build community cohesiveness and advance economic growth.
BPA’s Education Department strives to enhance relationships with community organizations, schools, and individuals throughout the Central Carolinas. Through a variety of educational and enrichment programs, we seek to bring the performing arts to a diverse population within our extended community. Several of these initiatives include: increasing arts access and education throughout the region through weekday matinees for school groups, supporting and celebrating our area performing arts educators with professional development and discount tickets through the Arts Educator Network, and diving into meaningful conversations with Community Cues.
We would love to connect with you. If you would like more information about our BPA Education programs, please e-mail EducationDepartment@blumenthalarts.org.

Urban Bush Women’s Legacy + Lineage + Liberation celebrates the power of Women(+) in an evening of classic works that transcend genres and amplify the voices of Women(+) of color. These iconic works give multiple dimensions of life that resonate in this time of reflection around equity and justice, and lift up Black lives in inspiring ways. These works have been unearthed, given new vision and strength, and are being sent forward to a new generation! In this dynamic show, audiences are offered UBW’s great sense of musicality, and reflection inside of empathy and joy, and a gracious invitation to respond to what they’re experiencing–and to leave the theater energized and inspired.
