Students will check-in and enjoy a guided tour of our current exhibitions with a Docent. The Docent will provide in depth information on the history of the Gantt center and all of the current art exhibitions.
Guided and self-guided tours are available to groups of 10 or more people. The Gantt Center requires one adult chaperone per 10 students. Groups of very young or special needs children must provide a smaller youth to chaperone ratio.
Guided tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance, are led by museum educators who will engage groups to support understanding of the cultural and historical context of the artwork, and last one hour.
To schedule your Tour please fill out a Tour Inquire Form (https://forms.gle/tdwVwVt3cJt6vDNs9). Once the form is completed, a staff member will contact you and email an invoice with a scheduled tour confirmation. Payment is due in full upon arrival at the Gantt Center to start the tour. You can during admission, call to pay in advance with a credit card or by check from your organization or school.

Self & Guided Tours for Title I Schools are free of charge.
Guided Tours for Non-Title I School are $7.00 per student.
School tours are available to elementary, middle, high school and college students. Tours at the Gantt Center are designed to help students and teachers use observation and critical thinking skills to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical context of the artwork on display. These visits address the following Common Core and North Carolina Essential Standards:

Please note: if your group arrives more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled guided tour, we may not be able to accommodate the group and your tour may be self-guided or you may receive an abbreviated tour. There is a fee of $150 if you cancel less than 72 hours prior to visit.
