After immersing yourself in the thought-provoking artwork and exhibitions at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, we invite you to further reflect on themes like identity, social justice, history, community, and more through visual storytelling.
In this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to express your unique perspective and creativity and learn how to capture images that evoke stories, emotions, and reflections. Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll learn composition techniques, storytelling through visuals, and editing skills to enhance your photographs. We’ll provide you with the tools and knowledge to capture the essence of the themes resonating from the museum’s exhibitions.

Tours at the Gantt Center are designed to help students and teachers use observation and critical thinking skills to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical context of the artwork on display. These visits address the following Common Core and North Carolina Essential Standards:
