A Telling Experience

Program description
A storytelling residency with Teaching Artist David Novak. Students will learn to find and tell stories in their own lives and in the world around them.
Day 1: Storyteller, David Novak, presents A Telling Experience, a storytelling assembly for grades 3-5, followed by a talk-back with students.
Goals:
• Introduce oral tradition • Model effective storytelling • Demonstrate different story types

EDUCATION STANDARDS
W-3. Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences.
SL-4. Report on a topic or text, tell a story, or recount an experience with appropriate facts and relevant, descriptive details, speaking clearly at an understandable pace.
L-3. Use knowledge of language and its conventions when writing, speaking, reading, or listening.

Artist will work with School to reschedule if needed. In the event of cancellation, a fee in the amount of 20% the contracted total will be charged.
