Middle & High School Dance Festival-Workshop

Program Description
Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance in Charlotte, North Carolina. The two-day festival welcomes regional students in grades 6-12 who are representing
their middle or high school. New this year we will be adding 2 Musical Theater classes for dancers who are interested as well in musical theater programs.

EDUCATION STANDARDS
7.DM.1.1 Understand how dance technique uses anatomical concepts of alignment, strength, and range of motion. 7.DM.1.2 Apply the effort qualities of time, space, weight, and flow in dance. 7.DM.1.3 Apply technical skills from a variety of dance traditions. 7.DM.1 Understand how to use movement skills in dance. 7.DM.1.4 Use breath to facilitate movement in dancing.
A.CP.2.1 Monitor appropriate behaviors and etiquette in a variety of dance roles (dancer, performer, choreographer, and observer) in order to maintain a positive and supportive environment. A.CP.2.2 Integrate performance values when creating and performing dance. A.CP.2 Understand how to use performance values (kinesthetic awareness, concentration, focus and etiquette) to enhance dance performance.
Qualifications
Cancellation Policy
Charlotte Ballet will refund the $100 student registration fee for each student less 15% to cover unrecovered festival costs until September 27, 2019. After that date, no refunds will be given. Refund requests must be emailed to Bianca Bonner, bbonner@charlotteballet.org. The school registration fee of $120 is non-refundable.
